Richard W. Singleton, 67, of Bellingham, MA and formerly of Cumberland, RI and Jamaica Plain, MA, passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 16 th , 2021. Born in Boston, he was the son of Mary (Wyllie) Singleton and the late Charles Singleton. Rick, better known to family as "Richie," was a proud Mission Hill neighborhood kid, devout patriot, a generous and loving friend to all and, most importantly, an untamed Frank Sinatra enthusiast with magnetic charisma. A graduate of Northeastern University, Rick was a financial advisor and owner at Singleton Financial Group, former RI State Representative in Cumberland, Bellingham town moderator, recently appointed Bellingham School Committee member, and a longtime patron and minstrel member at Saint John Vianney Church, likening his drumming to Buddy Rich and having the, self-described, voice of an angel. Besides his mother who he adored, he is survived by his family who he fiercely loved, children, Christopher, Ryan, Katelyn, and Michael Singleton, his grandchildren, Madison Squibb, Christopher Singleton Jr., Layla Singleton, and Cillian Cryan. He also leaves his siblings, Daniel, Carole, Liza, Francis, and John Singleton.
Visiting hours are Monday, March 22 nd from 5-8 PM at O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Mass will be held Tuesday, March 23 rd at 10 AM at Saint John Vianney Church, 3587 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland (seating limited). The mass will be live-streamed on the funeral home website. Social distancing and face masks are required.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the American Heart Association One State Street, Unit 200, Providence, RI 02908, in honor of Richard, would be greatly appreciated.
