Walter M. Warchol, 86, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, April 30, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Fay (Tellier) Warchol, to whom he was happily married for 63 years. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Walter and Frances (Bezak) Warchol. Walter was employed by Texas Instruments in Attleboro, MA, for forty-two years prior to his retirement, where he was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and quiet dedication.
Walter was a devoted father to Kerry Carlson and her husband Dean, Kathleen Cardosa and her husband Robert, and his late son, Jeffrey Warchol. Walter’s love extended deeply to his grandchildren, Chelsea Rebera and her husband Matthew, Emily Devlin and her husband Zachary, Caroline Carlow and her husband Robert, Joshua Carlson, Matthew Warchol, Andrew Warchol, and Lauren Warchol. He was incredibly proud of each of them and found immense joy in being their “Grampie.” He also cherished his great-grandchildren, Bridget Rebera, Isla Devlin, Caden Devlin, and Hadley Rebera, who brought him a new and special kind of happiness. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Beth Warchol, his extended Tellier family and many friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Lillian Wroe.
Walter was an avid golfer and spent many happy years at Lincoln Country Club. He and his wife enjoyed wintering in Naples, Florida, creating lasting memories together. He also gave generously of his time, serving on the board of the Texas Instruments Credit Union and as a dedicated member of the Cumberland Lincoln Rotary Club. Above all else, Walter was a family man. He was the kindest and most selfless person, someone who never spoke an unkind word and who found his greatest joy in the happiness of others, especially his family. He was gentle by nature, always putting others before himself, and lived his life with humility and grace.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Saint John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 6th, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Walter may be made to a GoFundMe for his great-granddaughter, Bridget Rebera. He always put his family first, and it would mean so much—and bring him great joy—to know that Bridget is being supported in his memory: Go Fund Me for Bridget
