Virginia Rahill, “Ginny”, 91, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2026. She was the wife of the late John “Jack” Rahill for 47 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Willliam and Mary Goulart, who both immigrated from the Azores, Portugal.

Ginny lived most of her life in Pawtucket. She graduated from Pawtucket East (Tolman) High School and attended Mitchell College. She moved to Germany with Jack while he served his country for 2 years, before starting their family in RI. They moved the family to Connecticut where she began her career in Social Services, she was also the proud Founder and President of the Ledyard-Gayles Ferry Junior Women’s Club. They also developed loving friendships that lasted a lifetime. They returned to RI where Ginny raised her family and continued her career as Executive Director of various non-profit programs before her retirement.

Ginny loved spending time with family especially her children, and grandchildren. She would drive to NH and Billerica MA, even into her 80’s, to visit them. Ginny had a wonderful social life and many special friends including her “Supper Club” groups, her card playing friends, her golf friends, and her many Portuguese relatives.

She is survived by her children, John Rahill and his wife Lori, of Chichester, NH, Beth Reis and her husband Gary, of Pawtucket, RI, Paul Rahill (Late wife Maureen (Bonaventure) Rahill) and his companion Dawn Light, of Sutton, MA; her grandchildren, Ashley, Max, Adam, Linsey, John Paul, and Alexandra. She also leaves ten great-grandchildren. Ginny was predeceased by her sister, Beatrice Taylor.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM in Saint Teresa Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to a celebration of Ginny at Pawtucket Country Club.

Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ginny's honor can be made to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main St. Providence RI 02904.
