Virginia M. (O''Gara) Monaghan, 93 of East Greenwich and formerly of Pawtucket passed away peacefully in the company of her family at South County Hospital in Wakefield, RI on April 14, 2012. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she had resided at the Seasons in East Greenwich for the past five years. She was the widow of David B. Monaghan, Sr. to whom she had been married for nearly fifty years. She was the daughter of the late William and Madeline (Reilly) O''Gara) and the sister of the late Madeline (O''Gara) Brandon.
Mrs. Monaghan is survived by her son, David B. Monaghan, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Matunuck, RI; two loving grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Monaghan Wegiel and her husband Daniel of Westboro, MA, and David B. Monaghan, III of New York City; and two great granddaughters Erin and Ashley wegiel who filled her with delight.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Monaghan on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Edward''s Church, Weeden Street, Pawtucket. Her burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. The calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. in the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited.
