Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden death of Timothy James Lavendier, 51, of Cumberland, Rhode Island. Tim passed away at home on June 3, in the arms of his beloved Melissa, from a coronary event. He leaves his three talented and beautiful daughters, Brianna Lee, Grace Katherine, and Madeleine Rose, and his devoted wife Melissa (Rivard) Lavendier, all of Cumberland. He also leaves his brothers, Mark and Christopher, his sister Danielle, and his father, Brian. He is predeceased by his adored mother Leafy (Costa) Lavendier, his loving in-laws Rita and Roland Rivard, and his dear brother-in-law, Glenn Campbell. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Timothy was dedicated to his chosen vocation of helping others through his work as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional, working tirelessly to counsel people through addiction and helping them rebuild their lives. His own journey to sobriety and the lessons taken from that experience, coupled with his natural ability to say the things that people needed to hear, made him instrumental in so many others' journeys to recovery. His was a valuable and steadying voice for all of us, and words cannot express how tremendously he will be missed.

Visiting hours and a celebration of Tim's life will be held at the O'Neill Funeral Home in Cumberland on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, with calling hours from 10:00 a.m.- noon, and a remembrance of Tim's life from noon - 1:00 p.m.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a fundraiser to help with the immediate needs of Tim's family would be greatly appreciated.
