Thomas G. O'Neill "Dutch", 89, a Cumberland resident for 59 years, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014. He was the husband of the late Agnes (Oldham ) O'Neill. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late John H. and Mary (Crane) O'Neill. Dutch was a Navy Veteran in WWII. He was an electrician for 50 years for IBEW Local 99. He retired after 25 years of service from the former Providence Gravure. He was a charter member of the Abbott Run Valley Club, and a longtime member of Fore Court Tennis Club.
He is survived by four children, Mary Ann Turgeon and her husband Gerald, Caren Goodier and her husband John, John O'Neill and his wife Cynthia, and Robert O'Neill and his wife Lynn, four brothers, William, Robert, Joseph, and Raymond O'Neill, one sister, Jane Couture, and ten grandchildren, Nicholas Goodier Esq., Cailin Goodier, Shannon, Thomas, and Meghan O'Neill, Tracie, Troy, and Kerri Turgeon, and Ryan, and Emily O'Neill. He was the brother of the late Dr. John, Vincent, and Paul O'Neill, Josephine O'Brien, Mary Donovan, and Nancy O'Neill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10am in Saint John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4-8pm in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland.
