Susan Henderson Montgomery, 76, of Cumberland, RI, and formerly of Connecticut, passed away Saturday, May 07, 2016. She was the wife of the late Capt. David R. Montgomery, USN.

Born in Central Falls, RI, she was the daughter of Howard C. and Victorine (Westman) Henderson. Susan grew up in Franklin, MA and graduated from Hood College in 1960 with a major in History. From marriage onward she was a Navy wife for over 30 years, relocating frequently and raising their six children at various Naval installations and through many sea deployments. After retirement they resettled together back to her much loved New England near family and friends.

She is survived by three sons, Stephen Montgomery of Long Island, NY, Jonathan Montgomery of Birmingham, AL and Daniel Montgomery of Mystic, CT and two daughters, Margaret Lobo of Franklin, MA and Melanie Kwok of Huntsville, AL. She was the loving Nana of Tory, Ashley, Spencer, Sarah, Eric and Grant.
She was also the mother of the late Marietta Montgomery and sister of the late John Thomas Henderson.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 21st at 10:00 am in Saint John's Episcopal Church, 237 Pleasant Street, Franklin, MA. A Memorial Service and Committal will be held at a later date in Rhode Island Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter.
