Obituary

Stephen J. Quinn, 72, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 6, 2024. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late David and Florence (Carr) Quinn. He is survived by his son, Geoffrey Quinn, two granddaughters, Brooklyn and Bailey Quinn, his brothers, David Quinn II, his wife Ann, and Kevin Quinn and his wife Marie. He also leaves his sister, Betty Quinn Lacroix, and her husband Marc. He was the brother of the late Sr. Mary T. Quinn, SSJ. He was the proud uncle of one niece, 6 nephews, one grandniece and five grandnephews.

After graduating from Saint Raphael Academy, Stephen attended the University of Rhode Island, and later Johnson & Wales for culinary studies. After a lengthy career in the food service industry, Stephen earned his CPA. Stephen lived in Ohio for 30 years. He became a devout lifelong OSU, "Buckeye" fan. (both the team and the candy). However, he loved his RI, especially Little Compton where he worked Summers during college, and where the family loved to "beach." Also, he loved clam cakes, lobster, and all things from the ocean. Steve had a sweet tooth and he particularly craved Reese's and chocolates shakes. For leisure activities he loved to play and watch tennis; he followed college and professional football, basketball, and baseball (esp. the Patriots, Celtics, and Red Sox). After his Parkinson's diagnosis, he joined a group called the DAPpers (Dance for All People) and reveled in the joy of dancing. He made new friends and thrived under the tutelage of his dance teacher at Brown University. Also, he loved a good game of cribbage. Odds were, he'd beat you!
