Obituary

Rosemarie Collins, 94, passed away peacefully in Cranston, Rhode Island on October 12, 2022. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of Vincent and Donatella (Rendina) Lamb. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Gertrude, Rosemarie, Louise and Bill. She is survived  by her children Randy Villa, Lance Villa, Michelle (Robert) Kirincich, Jennifer (Brian) Collins- Friedrichs, Logan (Jenny) Collins; her grandchildren Travis (Shane) Enzensperger, Jordan (Michelle) Villa, Sara (Doug) Stokes, Colin (Meaghan), Adam, Justin Kirincich, Meseret, Alia, Vicente Collins-Friedrichs, Mikaela Rose, Brady and Addison Collins; great-grandchildren Lyla and Ellie Stokes and many nieces and nephews who adored her.

Rosemarie began working at 14 to help support her family and held various jobs and volunteer positions throughout her life in New York and Chicago. She loved: a hot cup of coffee and a glass of red wine, a crusty bread and good chocolate, a New York Times crossword puzzle, a Mozart opera, a Cole Porter song, a true- crime story, a game of cards, a malted milkshake, and a good bargain. An enthusiastic fan to their sporting events and artistic performances, she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Rosemarie was a strong survivor throughout her life, a stunning beauty without effort, a brilliant well-read woman with no degree. She loved her adopted city of Chicago which she explored with her grandchildren and visitors in her latter years. Rosemarie will be missed beyond measure for her generosity, the interest she took in others and the open heart she possessed.

A memorial service will be held in the Spring in New York.

For those wishing to honor Rosemarie's memory, donations may be made to support foster children at Treehouse or to the Lyric Opera of Chicago .
