Rosalina P. Czarnomski, 54, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully Monday, September 9th, 2024. Born and bred in Bandung, Indonesia, she was the daughter of the late Abikustianto Parwono and Utju Rahardja. Rosa attended the University of Washington in Seattle where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. She went back to Indonesia to work in Surabaya managing a power plant design group for several years. At the time of the Asian financial crisis there was civil unrest in Indonesia and Rosa was fortunate to secure a transfer to a US subsidiary. In that Richmond, Virginia office Rosa met Doug, her future husband, and eventually they moved to Hartford, Connecticut, both starting new engineering positions in the area. They were married in 2004 and relocated to Cumberland.
Rosa grew tired of the "corporate" world and began crafting handmade jewelry and found a talent and passion, which she pursued, building her Serasi business steadily. She enjoyed the entrepreneurial and creative aspects of her new work and left the engineering world behind, though that experience helped inform her simple and clean design aesthetic.
Rosa was ordained with MorningStar Kingdom Business Administration, an organization of Christian business owners where she found a church home. She enjoyed participating in KBA programs and loved attending the conferences and retreats there.
Rosa was a kind and gentle soul, and though diminutive in stature she held strong convictions and was courageous - a peaceful warrior. She naturally forged many friendships wherever she went, it was hard not to appreciate her warm energy. Her journey here on earth touched so many lives, but ended much too early. She is at rest now in eternal peace at home.
Rosa is survived by her husband Douglas Czarnomski. She is also survived by her sister Cindy Parwono and beloved niece Bethany of Austin, TX, her brother Hendy Parwono and mother Utju Rahardja in Bandung, as well as many aunties, uncles and cousins around the world. She was preceded in death by her father who passed in March.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Saturday, September 14th at 1:00 PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Visiting hours will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service in the O'Neill Funeral Home.
