Rollande "Bea" Yvette Chaput, 98, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Wednesday, September 18, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Chaput. Born in Granby, Province of Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Jules and Julie (Houle) Robichaud.
Rollande was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She was the glue that holds everyone together. Much loved and held in high esteem by everyone who knew her. Happily married to the love of her life for 68 and a half years. Despite being deprived of much formal education Bea was one of the most talented people you could meet, she could turn her hand to anything successfully. She was also a dog lover, and they gave her great joy. A fantastic cook whose egg sandwiches are legendary. She worked side by side with her husband for many years firstly at Moore Fabrics as a weaver then by supporting him in his business at Day n Nite appliance which is now still family run and known as Wickford Appliance.
She is survived by her children, Daniel Chaput, Victoria West and her husband David, Catherine Siwy and her husband John, the late Raymond Chaput and his wife Janet, Timothy Chaput and his wife Eileen. She also leaves her daughter-in-law, Denise Chaput.
Fourteen grandchildren: Shawn Chaput, Jessica Turner, Matthew Chaput, Daniel Hartley, Julie Cantlow, Naomi Siwy, Nathan Siwy, Jonathan Siwy, Eric Chaput, Russell Chaput, Lisa Mullan, Miranda Borges, Kaitlin Young & Benjamin Chaput. Twenty-four great grandchildren: Dominic, Jennifer, Nicholas, Travis, William, Sam, Aaron, Liam, Ben, Nathan Jr, Shane, Noah, Aquinnah, Sebastian, Oliver, Ethan, Aiden, Holden, Fiona, Leo, Graham, Autumn, Harrison and Harper.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Monday, September 23rd at 9:00 AM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Rhode Island Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 12:30 – 3:30 PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Rhode Island Community Food Bank , in memory of Rollande, would be greatly appreciated.
