Roger Patrick Mulcahy, 70, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2022. He was the dedicated husband of Ann Marie (McDole) Mulcahy. Roger was the son of the late Joseph Mulcahy and Annette (Bonin) Venezia. He was born and raised in South Providence before becoming a resident of Pawtucket, RI.
Roger's spirit is carried on by his family: His wife of forty-two years; Ann Mulcahy, his son; Roger P. Mulcahy Jr., his wife Kimberly and his granddaughters Charlotte and Juliette Mulcahy. His stepson Sean Nolan and husband Michael Evora and his stepdaughter Robin Nolan. Roger was the brother to Joseph Mulcahy Jr., Linda Doherty, and the late John Mulcahy. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Roger grew up playing basketball in the Providence playgrounds with the likes of Marvin Barnes and Ernie Digregorio. He worked for twenty-five years at Hasbro Inc. and then attended New England Tech where he had a GPA of 3.9 (one of his professors never gave out A's which took away from the 4.0). Roger then worked as a computer technician for Entex IT Service and Siemens AG for ten years. He held numerous certifications and awards in the field before retiring to be a man of leisure. Roger was a coach for St. Leo's CYO basketball where he guided his team to break the unbreakable OLC full court press.
Roger Sr. and his wife enjoyed hosting holidays and gatherings at their home. They loved playing cards with their friends, Monica, and Joseph Crowe. He was a fan of basketball, country western music and watching movies with his son. Every day he looked forward to spending time with his wife, his family, and being the best "Pops" to his two grandchildren who he loved very much.
His storytelling and sense of humor will be missed by his family and friends. We know he is enjoying three all the way and a coffee milk in Heaven.
