Robert F. McIntyre, 91, of Cumberland, son of the late William McIntyre and Florence (Atchinson) passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Robert was the loving husband to the late Janet McIntyre. He is survived by his children, Susan Silva, Michael McIntyre, Sandra Jacob, Catherine Lalime, his sister, Carol Campbell, and his long-time best friend, Carolyn Martel. He leaves 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his daughter, Maureen Moran and his siblings, Raymond, William, Joseph, Dorothy Nolan, Catherine McIntyre, and Joan Wojtyto.
Robert was an US Army Veteran, who served in Germany. He was the past commander of Amvets Post #25 in Pawtucket, a lifetime member of the VFW, and the American Legion post # 14 in Cumberland.
He worked for CIBA Corp, and later Crompton and Knowles Corp as a sales representative. Robert was the founder and director of The Valley Singers and Entertainers. He was on the Board of Directors for Dexter Credit Union, The Blackstone Shelter for Women and Children, and AARP of RI. Robert also contributed and volunteered for numerous charities.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 26th at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 1303 Mendon Road, Cumberland. A private burial will immediately follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Cumberland.
Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Saint Rita's , 15 Sumner Brown Rd., Cumberland RI 02864.
