Richard J. MacKenzie, 67, of Smithfield and formerly of Cumberland, passed away unexpectedly April 20, 2023. Born in Burlington, Vermont, he was the son of the late Robert and Jacqueline (Fisher) MacKenzie. Richard was a site manager in the telecommunications industry for many years before retiring. He is survived by his brothers, Robert MacKenzie, Randall MacKenzie, and Ronald MacKenzie, his sisters, Robin MacKenzie and Rae Schofield. He also leaves his longtime partner, Tana Padden and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service Friday, April 28 ^th at 11:30 AM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday from 10:00 AM -11:30 AM, prior to the Service in the O'Neill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Rick, donations can be made to the Brotherly Love Fund that will benefit his brother Ron's recovery and wellness.
