Richard William Lapierre, 69, of Pawtucket passed suddenly "Into the Mystic" on May 11, 2020. He was the son of the late Arthur and Florette Lapierre. He leaves his beloved children, Jada of Lincoln and Nathan (Linda) of Austin, Texas and the apple of his eye, his grandson Maxwell. Richard will also be lovingly remembered by his beloved sisters, Dorothy Lubera, Claire Gerrard, Jeanne Daniels and his beloved brothers Robert and Roger Lapierre and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Alice Corcoran.
Baseball and especially the Boston Red Sox were his passion. He was a superb 3 rd baseman and an incredible base runner as a young man – his love for the game stayed with him for a lifetime. He was a devout fan of Van Morrison. Richard was charming and fun-loving, and his playfulness could always make people smile.
Richard worked in the food industry for over 50 years. He was employed by Risho's Market in Pawtucket as a meat-cutter in his youth and then in sales for Bonollo Provision Company, Providence until his retirement in 2018.
Private services and a family gathering will take place at a later time.
Donations in Richard's memory can be made to the Rhode Island Food Bank , 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island 02907 for those in need during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
