Richard A. Desmarais, of Attleboro, Massachusetts, passed into eternal life on January 26, 2024. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Gregory) Desmarais. Richard was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Leo Desmarais and Marguerite (Joubert) Desmarais.

He was a graduate of Brown University with a degree in engineering. Richard was employed by Cumberland Engineering for more than forty years as an engineering supervisor for research and development and CAD CAM machine centers.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren as well as bike riding, traveling, and fixing or building anything he wanted. Richard enjoyed sharing his knowledge and was always willing to lend a hand.

He is survived by his sons, Richard A. Desmarais and his wife Maria (Raposa) Desmarais of Attleboro, Massachusetts and Greg Demarais and his wife Donna (Vachon) Desmarais of Seekonk, Massachusetts. Richard is also survived by his companion of seven years Patricia Buonomano of Warwick and his grandchildren, Richard III, Jade and Greg.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Memorial Mass for Richard on Friday, February 9th at 10:00 AM, in St. Theresa's Church, 18 Baltic Street, South Attleboro. His cremains will be buried with his wife Patricia, in Newell Burial Ground, South Attleboro.
