Richard Lee "Rick" DeMontigny, 65, passed away on January 9, 2026. Born on November 8, 1960, he was the son of the late George and Shirley May (Dickinson) DeMontigny.
Rick was the beloved husband of Ann Marie DeMontigny, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. They met while attending Saint Michael's College in Vermont, where Rick began volunteering as an EMT and firefighter. He continued this service for a total of 20 years, serving the communities of Enfield, Connecticut, and Southwick, Massachusetts.
Rick was a devoted father to Patrick DeMontigny (Alexis), Shannon DeMontigny-Scigliano (Cameron), and Kathleen Clark (David), and a proud grandfather to Mira and Jackson DeMontigny and Mason Clark.
Rick spent his professional career working in the financial services industry, holding various roles over the years. Much of his career was dedicated to leadership positions, including Head of Supervision and Senior Director of Compliance. Rick took pride in his work, valued integrity and responsibility, and was deeply respected by colleagues for his knowledge, dedication, and steady leadership.
Rick and Annie started raising their family in Southwick and Attleborough, Massachusetts, later enjoying many happy years at Annie's dream home on the lake in North Attleborough, where boating and time with family and friends created lasting memories. They also spent four years in Castle Rock, Colorado, following Rick's career with Empower. After returning east, they lived briefly in Maine before settling in Acushnet, Massachusetts, where they spent frequent time with their children and grandchildren—by the pool, on the boat, on the golf course, and sharing meals together. Rick and Annie treasured these moments as some of the happiest times of their lives.
Known to all as Rick, he was a hardworking provider and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He valued family above all else. Rick and Annie were blessed with large, close, and loving extended families. Rick shared especially close relationships with his siblings Tom, Karen, Dave, and Michelle, and he dearly loved his many nieces and nephews.
Rick will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Saint Mary's Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 14 Park Street, North Attleborough, MA 02760.
