Obituary

Rachael Lynne Cassidy of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, passed into eternal life on June 9, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife as well as mother and a compassionate nurse in every medical endeavor she pursued, Rachael will forever be remembered as dedicated to ensuring those she loved and cared for, whether family, friend, student or patient, whether young or old, received her best efforts for she truly believed in everyone's potential to live with dignity, respect and with God's love.

She is survived by her husband of twenty years, Sean D. Cassidy and daughters Noel and Joy Cassidy. Rachael was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Paul and Linda Miller and the daughter-in-law of Michael D. and the late Jane-Ellen Cassidy. She was the sister of Carrie (George) Schiano and Paul (Sharon) Miller III, and the sister-in law of Shannon (Sean) Donnelly and Patrick (Terri) Cassidy and the aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Rachael graduated with a degree in nursing from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Rachael's career path in nursing was a testament to her belief in high quality, holistic care for patients and their families. Her professional credentials  as a nurse and school nurse/teacher included Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket RI, Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh PA, UMPC Home Care, Pittsburgh PA, East Liberty Family Health Care, Pittsburgh PA, Thundermist Health Care Center, Woonsocket and West Warwick RI, Walgreens Option Care IV nurse, Home and Hospice Care of RI, and Riverside Middle School, East Providence RI. For the last ten years, Rachael was a school nurse teacher at TIMES2 Academy in Providence RI where she worked to respond to the emergent medical needs of the school community including the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The late New York City hospital advocate, Josephine Billings, was quoted as saying "To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world."

For all of us fortunate enough to fall under the guiding grace of Rachael's caring and love, she was our world. She saved lives and she saved souls. Rachael, for all the good you did in this world you will never be forgotten most especially by your loving husband Sean and your adoring daughters Noel and Joy. Until we meet again.
