Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Lind, 63, of Cumberland on November 7, 2025. Born in Woonsocket on August 18, 1962, he is the youngest of Nancy (Dursin) and Frank O. Lind Jr.'s eight children.

Peter was a kind, gentle soul who loved nothing more than spending time with his three children and family dog. He was an incredible, endlessly supportive father and was always happy to lend an ear and give advice. His smile and sense of humor could light up a room, and his family and friends knew they could always count on him to brighten their day. He loved music, the New York Yankees, nature, fishing, and reading. He was very proud to have 10+ years of sobriety. Peter was very involved in AA and with supporting others in working towards sobriety while living in a sober house and afterwards. He cared deeply for people and animals in their times of need, being known to stop driving to help turtles cross the road or give to the homeless. He was open-minded, hilarious, and the coolest dad anyone could ever ask for.

He is survived by his three children, Mary, Sara, and James, who already miss their beloved father dearly and will cherish his memory forever. Peter is also survived by his siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family members, his ex-wife and the mother of his children Megan Hughes, and many friends. He leaves behind his dog, Otto, and his 'grandkitty,' Momo, as well. Peter is predeceased by his parents, his brother Michael Lind and his sister Mary (Lind) Poluvatizick.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to a GoFundMe set up to assist his children in their time of need.
