Pauline D. Mowry, 82, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025 at The HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the beloved wife of Warren F. Mowry Sr. Born on May 23, 1943 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Pauline was the daughter of the late Leo and Obeline (Pelletier) Desmarais.
Besides her husband Warren, she is survived by her children, Wendy Cournoyer and her husband Mike, Warren Mowry Jr. and his wife Jeni, Jerilyn Mowry and her partner Joe, Pamela Mowry and her husband Trent, and she was the devoted grandmother to Amanda (Jeff, Emily great-grandaughter), Lyndsay (Jack), Molli (Ian), Alli, Shylo (Ray), Ryan (Shasta), Jared (Jessie), Jacore, great grandmother to 21 and great-great grandmother of 5.
Pauline lived a life dedicated to her family that brought her to California, Idaho, and ultimately back home to Rhode Island. She had a sharp mind, which she exercised daily through her crossword puzzles and remarkable recall of Jeopardy! trivia. She loved Elvis Presley, the Boston Red Sox, puzzles, and board games. She was an avid fan of crime dramas, whether on tv or in the books she read. In her younger years, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards. She was very involved in her children's sporting events, assisting her husband with coaching and cheering on the teams from the sidelines.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on Christmas Eve, where she hosted her children and grandchildren for many years. Her thoughtful and unique gifts were a highlight of the holidays, always wrapped with love and a recycled bow on top.
Pauline will be remembered for her honesty, her generosity, and her famous meat pie. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Per her wishes, there will be no formal services. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory.
