Patricia was born on February 10, 1951 in Westerly, where she graduated with honors from Westerly High School after being elected Prom Queen in her senior year. Following studies at Boston Conservatory, she opened the Wickford Academy of Dance, where she proudly trained many future ballet performers. She also taught several classes in dance at the University of Connecticut during this time. In addition, she danced in several productions of Festival Ballet in Providence.
After moving to Kansas City with her husband in 1986, Patricia began her chiropractic studies at Cleveland College, graduating magna cum laude in 1990. Shortly thereafter, she moved back to Rhode Island and opened her first local practice in Seekonk, MA. After acquiring an 1884 Victorian home in Pawtucket in 1988, Patricia moved her practice there and established Wholistic Chiropractic Center, dedicated to the practice of Network Spinal Analysis, a cutting-edge energy-based gentle technique described by some as "life changing chiropractic" for its proven ability to reduce stress, tension, and the effects of previous trauma in the nervous system. Dr. Hogan-Casey was the first chiropractor in Rhode Island to receive her license through reciprocity.
Dr. Pat was a staunch supporter of Paws Watch, a local group which cares for feral felines, even adopting several stray kitties over the years. She also supported many local and national organizations dedicated to ending world hunger and animal welfare.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 37 years, Dr. Jack Casey of Pawtucket, as well as several cousins.
A celebration of Patricia's life will be held Saturday, October 30th at the Wholistic Chiropractic Center, 215 Cottage Street, Pawtucket from 2 - 4:30 PM with sharing of memories beginning at 3 PM. Patients, friends and all who knew her are welcome.
Donations in her memory can be made to: PawsWatch P.O. Box 7005, Warwick, Rhode Island 02887 or the American Diabetes Association , PO BOX 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116, would be greatly appreciated.
