Patricia Jane (Clarke) Haworth, 85, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 27, 1938, in Pawtucket, RI, Patricia was the beloved only child of Alzira (Elsie) Clarke and Edward A. Clarke.
Patricia worked for many years as a supervisor in the men's furnishings department at the former Apex department store, where she made many close friends that she kept throughout her life. She also worked for several years at Providence Mutual Fire Insurance Company in Providence and Warwick, where she was well-liked and appreciated by her coworkers.
Patricia was predeceased by her devoted husband, Dennis Haworth in 2001. She is survived by her four daughters, Susan Tavares, Jane Haworth, Nancy Haworth, and Karen Haworth. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren: Frank, Dennis, and Jessica Tavares; Patricia Santos; and Evan Haworth. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Emmy, Sylas, Addison, and Ainsley Tavares, who brought much happiness to her later years.
Patricia and her husband also lived for three years in Jupiter, Florida where they enjoyed their time walking their neighborhood beach and enjoying the nearby ocean before returning home to Rhode Island in 1988.
An avid reader and enthusiastic traveler, Patricia felt fortunate to visit Italy, Ireland, and Switzerland, experiences she cherished deeply. Her life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, her warmth, and her fun-loving spirit. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, kindness, strength, and the deep love she had for those around her. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A private service will be held to honor Patricia's life, celebrating the wonderful woman she was and the enduring impact she had on her family and friends.
