Obituary

Norman E. Hebert , 86, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Remington) Hebert. They were happily married for 62 years. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Fred and Elizabeth (Costigan) Hebert. Norm was a navy veteran of the Korean War. He was an electrician for Aubin's Tri-State Electric for 38 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Thomas Council, Cumberland, and the St. Patrick Seniors. Norman along with his wife Carol, summered in Buttonwoods since 1966. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael Hebert and his wife, Dawn, Cathleen Laverty and her husband David, Judith Hebert, Norman Hebert Jr., and Jessica Folan and her husband, Bart; his sister, Constance Pinkham, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Muriel Laverty. The funeral will be held Thursday at 9AM from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Saint Aidan's Church, 1460 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-7PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home.
