Norman A. Beauchene, 94, of Lincoln and formerly of Cumberland, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 29, 2024. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline (Desrochers) Beauchene. Born in East Providence, he was the son of the late Alderic and Alice (Gauthier) Beauchene. His early years were spent sailing his dingy off the shores of Narragansett Terrace, living and working at the family business - Beauchene's News in Central Falls, and proudly playing hockey for Mt. St. Charles. He enjoyed a lifetime of sailing on Narragansett Bay, skiing in the hills of Rhode Island and mountains of New England, and golfing with his wife, family, and many friends.
He is survived by his children, Thomas Beauchene, and wife Renise, William Beauchene and wife Kathy, Suzanne Olsiewski and husband Mark, Mary "Betsy" Canning and husband Patrick, and Nancy Sutton and her husband Jay; his grandchildren, Brent Beauchene, Danielle Fogarty, Chris Beauchene, James Olsiewski, Caroline Canning, Abbey McKeon, Adeline Sutton, and Tyler Sutton. Norman also leaves a great-grandson, Liam Fogarty. He was the grandfather of the late Rachael Olsiewski.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 4th at 11:00 AM in Saint Aidan - Saint Patrick Parish, 1460 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, June 4th, prior to the Mass, from 8:30 – 10:15 AM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland.
The burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Little Sisters of the Poor - Jeanne Jugan Residence 964 Main St. Pawtucket, RI 02860, in Norman's memory, would be greatly appreciated.
