Nancy Ellen (Johnson) Lapointe, 56, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, passed away on September 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving children. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on September 19, 1969, and was a lifelong resident of Cumberland.

Nancy is survived by her children, Chelsea Mahoney Dunworth, Chase LaPointe, and Lynsie LaPointe; her beloved granddaughter, Mazie Grace Dunworth whom she lovingly nicknamed “Pookie”; and her siblings, Rachel Emery and Robert Johnson. She was the daughter of the late Bertil Johnson and the late Mary Teixeira.

Nancy was a vibrant, loving, and unforgettable woman whose silly sense of humor, cheerful spirit, and compassionate heart touched the lives of so many. Her creativity and artistic spirit could be seen in everything she did, and she found joy in the simple beauty of people, places, and experiences. A lover of music, she enjoyed attending concerts and art fairs with her friends. She also loved to travel and was eager to experience new places. Yellow was her favorite color, a fitting reflection of the warmth and brightness she brought into the lives of those around her.

Nancy spent most of her adult life as a hairdresser, a career that brought her not only fulfillment but also many lifelong friendships. In the 1990s, she lovingly operated a home daycare, caring for children with the same nurturing spirit she brought to every part of her life. Most recently, she worked in the administration office of the Woonsocket School System.

Nancy leaves behind a lifetime of friendships, memories, laughter, creativity, and love. Though her time here was far too short, the light she brought into the lives of those who knew and loved her will continue to shine.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint John Vianney Church, 3655 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland.
