Michael O'Neill, 56, of Cumberland passed away peacefully Saturday, November 16, 2019, surrounded by his family and close friends. He was the beloved husband of Paula (Swanson) O'Neill. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Nancy (Spratt) O'Neill and the late John F. O'Neill. Michael worked in the banking and financial industry for 26 years. He graduated from Mount Saint Charles Academy in 1981 and Boston College in 1985 where he pitched for the baseball team. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, and photography. Michael is affiliated with the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick and he was a past president of the Boys & Girls Club of Cumberland/Lincoln.  Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Katherine and Kelly O'Neill, his brother, John O'Neill and his companion, Joanne Lataille, and his nephew, John O'Neill and his wife, Melissa O'Neill. The funeral will be held Friday at 9 AM from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Saint John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours Thursday from 4-7 PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home.
