Meredith L. Straight, 81, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on July 12th, after a brief illness. Born on August 13, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Ruth (Collier) Straight.

Meredith was a devout member of the Arnold Mills Methodist Church. Her greatest passion beyond all others was her love of dogs. She was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox going years without ever missing a televised game. She was also a fan of the New England Patriots. Meredith was an avid reader and in her younger years she was extremely fond of painting, knitting and ceramics.

In her last place of residence, Chapel Hill Assisted Living, Meredith loved so many of the residents and staff. She also enjoyed participating in many of the activities, outings, and building puzzles.

Although Meredith had no living relatives, she will truly be missed by dear friends who cared for her, and considered her family for many, many years.

As per Meredith's wishes, calling hours will be respectfully omitted. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 17th at 10:00 AM in Arnold Mills United Methodist Church, 690 Nate Whipple Highway, Cumberland. The Interment will be private.
