Maurice G. Sasseville, 94, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 24, 2025. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served his country for two years in Germany during the Korean War. He was the loving husband of the late Arlyne (Goldberg) Sasseville for forty-two years.
Born and raised in Pawtucket, he worked at the Fuller Paper Mill and then as a maintenance and handyman at Oak Hill Nursing Home for many years prior to retiring. He also had a side business with his wife doing wallpaper and painting and did a lot of building, remodeling, and intricate woodwork in both of the houses that they called home. He loved to watch wrestling, do the TV Guide crossword puzzle, and eat granny smith apples with salt.
Maurice was the son of the late Laura Desautels and Adolphe Sasseville, and the older brother of the late Roland B. Sasseville, Sr. Maurice is survived by his two daughters, Stacey Souza, and her husband Joseph, of Cumberland, and Heidi Sasseville, of Providence, as well as three grandsons, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A ceremony with military honors will be held at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter on Saturday, June 21st at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank in Maurice's memory would be appreciated.
