Mary Joyce Grinsell, 92, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, she brought southern charm and style to all she met and had a great love of New Orleans' food, music and culture, and all things chocolate.

The daughter of the late George and Celina (DuBos) Miller. Mary Joyce was a schoolteacher in the Pawtucket School Department for 15 years, retiring in 1990. She was an avid traveler, visiting Europe, Australia, New Zealand and many other countries. Mary Joyce was an enthusiastic gardener, card player, loved to read and had a passion for the theater and ballet. She was an active member of Hamilton House in Providence, RI and participated in their book and bridge clubs. Mary Joyce loved to quilt and was a member of the Narragansett Bay Quilters Association. She created many comfort blankets for Project Linus.

Mary Joyce is survived by her children, Geoff Grinsell and his companion Lois Winslet of Pawtucket, Dr. Guy Grinsell and wife Marjorie of Narragansett, Jon Grinsell and his wife Jenny of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Jay Grinsell and his wife Kari of Holliston, MA. She was also the proud grandmother to Dr. Andrew, Kaitlin, Nicole and Trevor Grinsell, and the great grandmother to Rayla Grinsell.

The Grinsell family would like to thank her loving and compassionate caregivers Ida, Phyllis, Shelley, Karen, Rhonda, and Silvia.

The funeral and burial will respectfully be private.
