Mary Elizabeth Ethier

Mary Elizabeth Ethier, 87, of Cumberland, passed away surrounded by her loving daughters on Friday, June 12, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Ethier.

Born in Bronx, NY, Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Francis (Mullen) Hoyer. Mary worked as a bookkeeper in the hospitality industry following her service in the United States Air Force. Above all, Mary was a loving, caring, and devoted mother who was a fierce advocate for her daughters and had true grit.

Mary is survived by her children: Ann Marie Ethier, Amy Ethier, and Michael Ethier. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Marci Richards, and Michael Ethier Jr. Mary was the sister of Anna, Joe, John, and Vinny.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Historic Saint Joseph Church, 1303 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a tree ceremony and refreshments at Diamond Hill State Park, 4097 Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland.

Burial will be private.
