Mary A. Byrne, 96, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a brief illness, Wednesday, September 15, 2021. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Byrne. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Alice (Keenan) Walsh. Mary was a teacher in the Cumberland school department for over 20 years and a longtime member at Kirkbrae Country Club.

She is survived by her children, Jane Byrne, Judy Lahart (Bill), Ruth Hanahan (Jim), and Frank Byrne (Sue); her grandchildren, Mary Hanahan, Shane Hanahan, Billy Lahart, Kelly Lahart, Maeve Byrne, and Christopher Byrne. She is also survived by her sisters, Martha McManus, Sister Aliceann Walsh, and Roselyn McKenna. She was the sister of the late Peggy McCretton and Christopher Walsh.

Due to Covid-19 and for the safety for all, a private Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, September 18 ^th in Saint John Vianney Church, Cumberland. Burial followed in Diamond Hill Cemetery.
