Marion Burgess

Marion Burgess, 95, passed away peacefully on May 24th 2026 surrounded by her loving family at Mt St Rita Health Center in Cumberland RI. Marion, a lifelong resident of Seekonk Ma, was born in Pawtucket, RI on November 7th 1930 to the late Walter Pencaski of Poland and the late Edna (Thibodeau) Pencaski of Pawtucket, RI. 

As a lifelong resident of Seekonk, Marion would often tell stories of how the town changed and developed from World War 2 to the present day. She often spoke of her childhood experiences of going to work with her mother and helping her father with daily chores. When Marion was able to start working, she would tell many humorous stories about the Royal Electric Company. Marion met the love of her life, Henry Burgess there. They married after Henry returned from the Korean War and they had a long lasting, loving relationship that lasted decades until Henry’s passing in 2011. Marion often recalled her love for watching wrestling matches at Jack Witchie’s, going to the Tent in Warwick, and bargain hunting or “poking” as she would call it, at yard sales. Marion had a passion for cooking and baking. One of her favorite jobs was working for Farberware as a product demonstrator, where she would be seen in retail stores around the area, showcasing their products with food samples. Marion was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need and quietly helped families anonymously through several organizations. 

Marion’s kindness, generosity and incredible wit will be missed by all those who knew her and loved her. 

At her request, all services and her burial will be private.
