Marc R. Glaude

Marc Rene Glaude, 64, of Smithfield, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, on August 14, 1962, Marc was the son of the late Rene Glaude and his loving mother, Thelma (Fleury) Alix, and the stepson of the late Alfred Alix.

Marc is survived by his four siblings and their spouses: Renee Pereira and Raul Pereira, Louise Masse and Robert Masse, Peter Glaude and Jamie Goldstein, and Collette Glaude and Laura Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marc graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1980, earned his accounting degree from Bryant University, and most recently worked as a Senior Auditor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. With an entrepreneurial spirit, he founded Royal Eastern Realtors, where he took great pride in helping family and friends buy their first home. He later became the owner and President of Royal Travelers, traveling the world with clients, family, and friends. His warm smile and humor put everyone at ease.

Marc lived life to the fullest, playing soccer in his youth and giving back to the community as a coach for youth soccer at Dunn Park. He loved cycling and the freedom of the open road on his Harley-Davidson. In high school his coolness was unmistakable as he drove around in his Powder Blue, 1955 Pontiac Chieftain. Music was a lifelong passion. He played the piano and had a wealth of musical knowledge—he could name a song and its artist after hearing just a few notes. Marc loved blues and jazz music and could very often be found at Chan’s with friends and family enjoying live performances. Among his many loves was Goliath, his Great Dane, whose image Marc proudly tattooed on his arm.

Marc will be lovingly remembered as a proud son, protective big brother, fun uncle, and loyal friend who filled our lives with his contagious laugh. Handsome and charming, he turned heads whenever he entered a room. His generous heart and larger-than-life presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ride easy, Marc, until we meet again.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Monday, November 23, 2026, at 12:00PM at the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI. Burial will be private. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family invites everyone who knew and loved Marc to share their favorite stories, songs, and memories as we celebrate the laughter, music, friendship, and love he held so dear.
