Lucille T. Thomas, formerly of Pawtucket, passed into eternal life on August 29, 2025 at the age of 93. She was the loving wife of David C. Thomas whom she shared 59 years of marriage. Born in Pawtucket, Lucille was the daughter of the late Leon C. Laforest and Florette (Benoit) Laforest. She worked as a clerk for Amica Insurance for many years, where she was admired for her dedication and kindness.
Lucille enjoyed an active and joyful life. As a student at Pawtucket East High School, she loved playing sports and carried that passion into adulthood, continuing to play golf for many years. She also loved to sing and shared her voice with her sisters as part of the Attleboro Harmonettes barbershop chorus, an experience that brought her great joy.
Her greatest source of pride, however, was her family. As a grandmother, known as Lulu, she brought endless joy into the lives of her granddaughters through simple but meaningful traditions, such as trips to the Slater Park carousel and special breakfasts at Micheletti's.
Lucille also cherished her friendships, keeping in touch with many of her childhood friends through phone calls and the annual cookouts at Colt State Park, where her warmth and humor made every gathering special.
Besides her husband, Lucille is survived by her children: Steven A. Thomas and his spouse Jennifer, Dwight A. Thomas and his spouse John Motta, and Leslie A. Thomas and her spouse John Kibiloski. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Katharine, Avery, and Hazel. She was the sister of the late Jeanne Twedt and Annette McCusker and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Lucille will be held on Saturday, September 13th at 11:00 AM in the Manning-Heffern-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket. Visitation will take place that morning from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Lucille's memory, to the Providence Animal Rescue League 34 Elbow St., Providence RI 02903.
Lucille will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her devotion to family, and the love she shared so generously with all who knew her.
