Lois A. (Dunham) Folan, 92, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home, Thursday, November 21, 2024. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard W. "Dick" Folan. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Florence (Hebert) Dunham. She was a graduate of Pawtucket East High School and a lifelong resident of the city of Pawtucket. Lois truly loved the city and was especially proud of her late husband's service and career with the Pawtucket Fire Dept. She was a member of the former St. Leo the Great Parish.
In addition to her vocation of being a mother, she worked in human services, assisting individuals with developmental disabilities for many years prior to retiring. Lois truly cherished her retirement, spending quality time with her grandchildren and family. Summers were filled with joy and laughter at the family summer home in Dennisport, MA where countless memories were made. She always enjoyed spending the day at the beach followed by lobster and steamers.
Lois is survived by her son, Robert Folan of Dennisport, MA, three grandsons: Brad Folan (Ryan) of Pawtucket, RI, Scott Folan (Adriana) of Pawtucket, RI , and Sean Folan (Brenda) of San Diego, CA. She also leaves her former daughter-in-law Susan Folan of Pawtucket RI, and her two great grandchildren, Aiden and Scarlett Folan. Lois was predeceased by her daughter Deborah Folan, and was the sister of the late Irene Stone, Hope Murphy, and Carolyn Tretton.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 30th at 11:00 AM, in St. Raymond's Church, 1240 N. Main Street, Providence, RI. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 30th from 8:30 - 10:15 AM in the Manning-Heffern-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage St. Pawtucket, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904, would be appreciated.
