Obituary

Leo E. Farley, 94, died peacefully at home with his loving daughters and pets on Tuesday, July 18, 2022.

Leo was born in Pawtucket, RI on June 8, 1928 to John and Emma (Palagi) Farley. He graduated from the Pawtucket school system. He spent many summers peddling ice cream for the family business, Palagi's Ice Cream. He held a variety of positions before serving in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for almost 40 years at Valley Gas Company prior to retirement.

Sixty years ago he became the loving husband of the late Mary (McKitchen) Farley. They had three daughters: Mary, Kate and Sara. He and Mary raised their family in Pawtucket prior to moving to Seekonk, MA. Leo was the ultimate handyman and could often be found helping family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed caring for his grandchildren and his grand-pets. Although a quiet and reserved man, he had a unique sense of humor creating lifelong memories for his loved ones.

He spent the last several years living in Tiverton, RI with Sara, Jerry and their children. While there, he enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels, going on daily outings with his devoted caregivers, and any opportunity to eat ice cream.

Leo is survived by his three daughters Mary Tomaselli and her husband Thomas of Barrington RI, Katherine Taylor and her husband Jeffery of Seekonk, MA and Sara Farley and her husband Jerome Larkin of Tiverton, RI. He also leaves his sister Phyllis Poissant and his predeceased  brothers Kenneth and John Farley. He will be sadly missed by his seven grandchildren, Jillian Tomaselli, Raechel Tomaselli, Kelsy Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Max Farley, Samuel Farley and Benjamin Farley.

He was a lifelong devoted Catholic.

His funeral and burial will be private.
