Kathleen Shilling,90, of Central Falls, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011 in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late John Shilling. Born in Great Harwood, Lancashire, England, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Edith (Birchall) Neale. \r
Mrs. Shilling lived most of her life in Central Falls. She graduated from Holy Trinity and Central Falls High School, she was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish, and then Holy Family Parish. She worked at the Shipyard during World War II.\r
A fan of the music and dancing of the 40''s, she knew all the words to the popular songs of that era. She was a RI State employee for twenty years before retiring in 1986. She spent two very happy years residing at the Village at Waterman Lake assisted living. \r
She is survived by a daughter, Maria Baxter, a grandson, Joseph Baxter and his wife Tiffany, a granddaughter, Sarah Baxter, and two great-grandsons, Bryce and Brent Baxter. \r
The funeral will be held Monday, November 21, 2011 at 8:30AM from the O'NEILL Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM in Saint Matthew''s Church of Holy Spirit Parish, Dexter Street, Central Falls. Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4PM in the funeral home.
