Obituary

Karen Houde, 79, of Lincoln passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2024. Her final moments were spent in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of Raymond Houde Jr. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Francis
and June L. (Bentley) Cole. She was predeceased by her only sibling and sister, Holly Cole.

Karen graduated from East Providence High School. Karen was a secretary in the insurance industry and worked as a home healthcare aid. After retiring she pridefully worked at her son's medical practice as the "matriarch" of the office and handled all the bookkeeping. She was a parishioner of St. John Vianney Church in Cumberland.

Karen enjoyed traveling with her husband visiting many places including Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Florida. She loved listening and dancing to music. She had a love for animals and many times you would find a cat by her side while doing her crossword puzzles or reading a magazine. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family, including her many grandchildren. Known for her kind heart and listening ear, she will be greatly missed by all whom knew her.

Besides her husband she is survived by her two sons, William F. Wilson III and his wife Susan of Riverside and Dr. Scott A. Wilson and his wife Ericka of Lincoln. Karen was the loving grandmother to Caitlin Wilson, Brianna Swiergosz, Kingsley Wilson, Bryson Wilson, Wilder Wilson, Harlow Wilson, Seona Wilson, and one great-grandson. She was predeceased by her two grandsons Samson and Benjamin Wilson.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, May 7th at 10am at St. John Vianney Church, 3587 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, prior to Mass in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland.

The burial will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
