Joyce I. Lynch, 92 passed away on May 1st, 2022, surrounded by her family at Lee Memorial Hosptal in Ft. Myers, FL. She was the wife of the late William J. Lynch. Joyce was born in Pawtucket, RI on November 29, 1929. She was the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Ferris) Brophy.
She attended Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Pawtucket, RI "Class of 1951." Joyce was employed at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital currently known as Memorial Hospital of RI in Pawtucket, as a Registered Nurse. During her employment at Memorial Hospital Family Care Center she received a Diplomat degree as a Nurse Practitioner from Massachusetts General Hospital, she was one of the first pioneer's in the field. Joyce was an avid bridge player and quilter in the community of Imperial Wilderness in Naples, FL. She loved to play bridge, bingo, and take trips to the casinos in Hollywood and Immokalee, FL. She was a "world traveler" taking trips and cruises through her Imperial Wilderness community.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Mary Bosma and her husband Chuck, and Patricia Blade and her late husband Matt, both from North Ft. Myers, FL. She was a grandmother to Erin Jarvis, Colleen Quinonez, Adam Bosma, Samantha Bosma-Trujillo, and Megan Senecal. Great-grandmother to Joseph Costa, Sophea Jarvis, Anthony Quinonez, David Benoit, III, Jack Benoit, and Skyla Benoit. She was the mother of the late Deborah Massey.
A Committal Service at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be held on September 10, 2022 at 9:30 AM. Anyone planning to attend should gather at the administrative building at 9:15 AM.
