Our precious mother, Joyce Kareemo passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Joyce was predeceased, by only 11 months, by her husband James Kareemo whom she was the beloved wife of 57 years. Joyce was born in Pawtucket on October 9, 1941 to Joseph and Ethel Tassone.

She is survived by her daughter Joyce "Joy" Kareemo, her son David and his wifeTracey Kareemo, granddaughter Dr. Kalee Sargent and her husband JJ Sargent, grandson Dean and his wife Darya Kareemo who were both the apple of her eye! She also leaves her brother Joseph R and his wife Cheryl Tassone, many nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by her oldest son Stephen Kareemo.

Joyce had a fulfilling life as a mother, wife, and friend. She loved cooking, gardening, knitting, spending time at the beach and traveling with her family. Especially trips to Cape Cod, New Hamphsire, and day trips to the casino. Joyce worked for the Pawtucket School Department for many years. And after retirement went on to work as a elderly caregiver for various agencies in RI.

Joyce's favorite meals to cook for her loved ones were: Papa's meatballs, Grandma Kareemo's stuffed grape leaves, her own apple pie, banana bread, and holiday cookies. She was also awarded "Miss. Cookie" back in the day for winning a chocolate chip cookie bake-off.

Joyce will be remembered for her kind and loving soul. She will always be number one mommy to her former dog Maxwell Smart "Max".

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service Friday, November 25th at 12:00 PM in the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket Visiting hours 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM, prior to the Service in the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

In Lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's name may be made to the American Heart Association or Hope Hospice Providence .
