Joseph Edward Najjar, 89, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Born in Pawtucket, Joseph was the son of the late Samuel and Hilda (Macharra) Najjar.

Joseph was a graduate of Tolman High School in Pawtucket. He then served in the Navy for several years during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he was employed by SHUR-AZ, a janitorial supply company founded by his father, Samuel Najjar in 1922 until he retired in 2001. Joseph was also a member of the CYO at St. Basil's Church.

Joseph is survived by his nieces and nephews: John Tetreault of North Smithfield; Maryann Tetreault of Pawtucket; David Tetreault and his wife, Lynn, of Ohio; Diane Tabicas and her husband, Frank, of Swansea; Lynn Soares of Cumberland; Mona Waters and her husband, Timothy, of Pawtucket; and David Najjar of Hawaii. He also leaves behind many great-nieces and nephews, as well as many great-great-nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his siblings, Anthony Najjar, Alphonse Najjar, and Ann Tetreault.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Saint Basil the Great Church, 115 Skyview Road, Lincoln, RI. Burial will follow at Saint Basil’s Cemetery, 125 Curran Road, Cumberland. 

Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:30 - 10:45 AM at the church.
