Joseph Robert Grant, Jr., age 30, of Smithfield, Rhode Island, passed away unexpectedly while on vacation in Puerto Rico on May 25, 2024.
Joseph was born on February 15, 1994, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to Joseph and Stacey (Rousseau) Grant. Growing up in Smithfield, Rhode Island, Joey had a wonderful expansive childhood, being homeschooled through grade 5 and then graduating from Smithfield High School in 2012 where he excelled on the basketball and football teams. He was life-long learner, someone who thrived on knowledge and was excited by astronomy, history, politics, finance and sports.
Joe was a dedicated salesman for General Motors, where he also excelled in his career. He won Salesman of the Month several times and was a proud recipient of General Motors' "Mark of Excellence" award, given for superior sales volume and customer satisfaction.
Joey is survived by his mother, Stacey Ann (Rousseau) Grant; his father, Joseph Robert Grant; his sister, Maegan Rain Grant; his stepmother, Beth Ann Grant and stepsisters Ariana Ruhle and Isabella Ruhle; his grandmothers Vera (Skidmore) Rousseau and the late Linda Provost; his grandfathers Gerry Provost and the late Edward A. Rousseau; Aunts Marie Rousseau, Mary Garren and Cheryl Grant; Uncles Robert Grant, Matthew Provost, and the late Steven Rousseau; former spouse Carly (Andrade) Grant and many other extended family members and friends and his pets who will all miss him dearly.
A celebration of Joseph's life will be held on Sunday, June 23rd at 3:00 PM in the Manning-Heffern-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage St., Pawtucket. The visiting hours will be prior to the service on Sunday, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to support the family with the ceremony and end-of-life expenses can be made on Joseph's GoFundMe Page or to Alcoholics Anonymous , in memory of Joey, would be greatly appreciated.
