Obituary

Joseph F. Eastman, 88, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, February 14, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Frances (Fitzgerald) Eastman for 62 years. Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Warren and Mildred (Baker) Eastman. Joseph was raised in Boston and graduated from Dorchester High School. Shortly after graduation, he enrolled in the Army where he was stationed and served in Japan. Upon returning home, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, received an All-Time Letterman award for football, and earned his MBA from Northeastern University. Before retiring to spend time with his family and friends, Joe spent many years as Vice President of Human Resources for A.T. Cross Company in Lincoln, RI.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his four children, Joseph and Karen Eastman, Jeffrey and Sharon Eastman, Kristine Sullivan and Robert Prud'homme, and Susanne and Brandon Barrett. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, who he loved to share a laugh or joke with, Katelyn Sullivan, Morgan Eastman, Breanne Sullivan, Brooke Barrett, Nick Eastman, Joey Barrett, JP Sullivan, and Samantha Sullivan.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Saint John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road in Cumberland, RI. The burial will be private.

Prior to the Mass, the family will receive guests at Saint John Vianney Church on Saturday, February 22nd from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.
