Obituary

Joseph F. Bailey,85, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2011. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Michael and Catherine (Stockton) Bailey and the loving husband of 62 years of Dorothy E. (Racewicz) Bailey.\r

Mr. Bailey was a lifetime member of the Ironworkers Union, Local 37 and involved in the construction of many of RI''s larger buildings and structures, working for Imperatore Steel Erectors and Gansett Steel Erectors. \r

He was the beloved father of Karen A. Bellucci and her husband Anthony of Smithfield, Linda Guzman and her husband Dan of Phoenix, AZ, Nancy Andrade and her partner Kathy Clement of Pawtucket and Jeanne L. DiOrio and her husband Edward of Coventry; the cherished grandfather of Brian, Gregg and Jeffrey Bellucci, Jennifer Hutchins, Kelly Andrade, Michael and Matthew Hopp and Ashley and Kyle Breedon and the adored "PoppaJoe" of his eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Marold of Cumberland; two step grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his identical twin brother James Bailey; brothers, Walter and Edward and his sisters, Ellen Ferrelli, Mary Gariepy, Esther Audette and Georgianna Smith. \r

The funeral will be held Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 9 AM from the HOEY-ARPIN-WILLIAMS-KING Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 4th Street, North Providence. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visiting hours Wednesday, 4-8 PM. \r
