Jonny passed into eternal rest April 20 th , 2023, at the age of 37. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, in St. Petersburg FL. Jon is survived by his loving parents Frederick and Janet Piza (Cripps) and his beloved sister Julie Rego Hoffman and her husband, Michael. He also leaves his beloved nephew Christopher Rego and niece Isabella Rego, his beloved Aunt Cynthia Garry and his dear cousins, Samantha, and Joseph Garry. Jonny leaves his dear girlfriend Hanna Hughes, and his loving four-legged friend Blake, AKA the potato.
Jon was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, the late Howard and Doris Cripps, and his paternal grandparents, the late John and Barbara Piza, and late aunt Marianne Piza.
Jon graduated from Tolman High school in 2004, and then attended CCRI where he obtained his EMT license. He worked for Med-Tech ambulance. He completed his Paramedic course in 2008. Jon then went on to work for Pardini Construction. After obtaining his CDL license, Jon went to work for AGI construction, where he was named "Best Driver\Operator". He truly loved working at AGI where he made some of his life long, best friends. Jon Excelled as a Driver\Machine operator. He was a member of Local 4 IUOE. Then went to St. Pete operating multiple heavy machines.
Jonny worked at Camp Yawgoog, during high school, for four years living his best life and making many lifelong friends. Jon earned his Eagle in 2003. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and being outdoors. Jon was an avid Boston Bruins fan.
Jonny will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Service on Thursday, May 11th, at 11:00 AM in the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage St., Pawtucket. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, May 10th, from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Jonathan Piza Memorial Campership Fund, Care of Friends of Troop 28, 200 Cameron St. Pawtucket, RI 02861, would be greatly appreciated.
