John Pita Jr., of South Attleboro, Massachusetts, and formerly of Pawtucket, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
John was born in Providence, the son of John and Carol (Johnson) Pita of Pawtucket. He was employed by the City of Pawtucket for many years in the Parks and Recreation department. He had recently been assisting the parish of Our Lady of Loretto in East Providence, maintaining the grounds and the church.
John was truly a remarkable person and one of the kindest souls who overcame many struggles in his life. In the past eight years, he had found peace, sobriety, and most of all contentment. He poured his energy into his passions, as a self taught artist, he would paint everything from local historical buildings, to family members, and landscapes. He had a love for collecting and enjoyed perusing antique shops, for everything from sports cards to vintage albums. He was an avid sports fan, a lifelong NY Giants fan, and truly enjoyed watching football on Sundays with his father. He will be sorely missed by his entire family, especially his Mom and Dad, who benefitted from his generosity and helping hand.
Besides his parents, John is survived by his sister Melissa Crisafulli and her husband Marc of Edgartown, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his adoring niece and nephews: Gabriella Crisafulli and her fiancé Jake, Sam Crisafulli and his wife Gabriella, and Jake Crisafulli. His niece and two nephews were truly and incredibly special to John. He also leaves his aunts and uncle, Lois Markarian, Carl and Maria Johnson, as well as several cousins. John leaves his dear and faithful companion, his cat "Buddy."
