John E. Buckley, 84, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Janice (Rego) Buckley. They were happily married for 62 years. Born in Medford, MA, he was the son of the late Eugene and Ellen (Walsh) Buckley. John's life revolved around a steadfast commitment to family, faith, and fitness, each serving as pillars to his well-being.

John graduated from Northeastern University, earning both an MBA and CMA and becoming a Certified Public Accountant. Before beginning his career at Ernest and Ernest, he proudly served in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam war. John retired from a successful business career that included 25 years at A.T. Cross Company where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Janice (Rego) Buckley, their children; John M. Buckley and his wife Maria, Colleen Fahey and her husband Timothy, Michael Buckley and his wife Mary, and his grandchildren, Kaelin Brogan, Paige, Kacie, Ashley, Ryan, and Matthew, and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves his siblings, Charles Buckley and Marian Sargent.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours on Sunday, December 1st from 2:00 - 4:00 PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 2nd at 10:00 AM in Saint John Vianney Church, 3587 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
