Joan T. DuRocher, 78, of Lincoln, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 7, 2024 while on vacation in Italy. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Teresa (Leverone) DuRocher. She was the sister of the late Dr. Fran DuRocher, M.D. and the sister-in-law of the late Sigrid Moser.
She is survived by her two children, Elizabeth Brouillard of Wayland, Mass. and David Brouillard of Lincoln, R.I., his wife Jennifer and three grandsons: Matthew Behrle, Jon Brouillard and Brayden Brouillard. She is also survived by her beloved partner, John Salisbury of Millville, Mass.
Joan was a teacher in the Blackstone-Millville school district working at both Millville Elementary and Hartnett Middle School for many years before retiring. In her retirement, Joan loved spending time with John on their boat, which she referred to as "my happy place." She also enjoyed traveling and finding new places to eat and sip a glass of wine. Her greatest joy, however, was in spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 18th, at 11:00 AM in Saint Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Lincoln. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 17th from 4:00 –7:00 PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland.
Joan was a survivor of both ovarian and breast cancers. She lived with gratitude for every day she was given. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund , 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline MA 02445.
