Obituary

Jo-Ann C. Forcier, 85, of Manville, passed away peacefully Monday, June 10, 2024. She was the wife of the late Raymond Forcier. Born in Woonsocket, raised in Burrillville, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Lawrence and the late Eva (Winsor) Piette. Jo-Ann moved to Lincoln and spent over 50 years as a resident of Manville. Jo-Ann and Ray owned and operated the family industrial catering business in Manville for many years before retiring.

Jo-Ann was an avid volunteer; Cub Scout leader, CCD teacher and volunteer at her beloved St James church. She also served her community as an elected official on the Lincoln School Board in the mid 1980s. She loved to read, play bingo at local festivals and at Foxwoods, and to watch professional sports, especially the New England Patriots. In the last year of her life, she entertained the patients, nurses, and staff at the Dialysis Center of Woonsocket with her cheerful presence and warm wit.  A great conversationalist, Jo-Ann often said her special aptitude was being able to talk to anyone, anywhere. And she did!  Her greatest joy in life was being around all of her grandchildren, and her family was blessed knowing she prayed the Rosary for them every single day.

She is survived by her children, Melissa McKee (James) of Cumberland, Charles Forcier (Jeralyn) of St. John's FL Steven Forcier (Elizabeth) of Phoenix AZ, and Michael Forcier of Lincoln; her grandchildren, Teressa McKee (fiancé Nicholas), Kelsey McKee, James McKee (Margaret), Jake Forcier, Jenna Forcier, Olivia Forcier, Jesse Viveiros (Sarah), Nikki Shaw (Justin) and Amy Boulris (Brian). She also leaves her brothers, Frederick Lawrence Jr., Gary Piette, Guy Piette, Randy Lawrence, and BJ Lawrence. She was the step-mother of the late Jackie Viveiros (Edmund), and the sister of the late Linda Lawrence, Glenn Piette, Francois Lawrence and Patrick Lawrence.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, June 15th at 10:00 AM in Saint James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. Burial will follow in Saint James Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland.
