Jerzy Marcin Stepien, 79, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026. He was the devoted and beloved husband of Irena (Widzinska) Stepien, with whom he shared a life rooted in love, strength, and unwavering commitment to family.
Besides his wife, Jerzy is survived by his children Patrick Stepien and Katarzyna Wisniewska. He leaves behind his grandchildren Jerzy Dennis Stepien, Maciej Wisniewski and Wojtek Wisniewski. Jerzy was the brother of the late Barbara Toloczko.
Born in Warsaw, Poland, Jerzy was the son of the late Zofia Kaminska and Stanislaw Stepien. He carried deep pride in his Polish heritage and in becoming an American citizen. This pride remained with him throughout his life and was reflected in his love for sports and traditions such as always cheering on the polish soccer team and having a great passion for the New England Patriots.
Jerzy worked for many years in the recycling industry as a scrap yard specialist at AR Recycling, a job he took great pride in. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and most of all, his heart of gold. He earned great respect from coworkers and those around him. His work was more than a job, it was a place where he was valued, so much so that he was still happily working at the age of 79 years old; they truly became part of his family.
Above all else, Jerzy's love for his family defined him. He was a devoted father, husband, and a cherished grandfather, always putting them first.
